I got just 11 balls of yarn when I actually ordered 12. I've reached out to them multiple times but haven't heard back. Looks like I’ll need to dispute the charge on PayPal.

The employees were incredibly unfriendly, and the store feels even more packed since they rearranged things to put sale items on the upper level (which is pretty empty). Everything else got shifted to the main floor, making it a real hassle to navigate through the shop. Plus, they switched to card payments only, and when I tried to pay with cash, the cashier was super rude about it. I just walked out, leaving my stuff on the counter. No way I'm returning.

I recently placed an order for a bunch of patterns from Abakhan during their sale. After waiting two weeks with no word on delivery, I reached out to them, and they promised to look into it. The package finally arrived today, and honestly, I’m really let down. They only sent me 3 out of the 11 items I ordered and paid for. The delivery note mentioned 4 items, but that’s not what I got. There’s been no word on whether the rest will be sent or if I’ll get a refund for the missing items. To top it off, I received an email saying the issue was resolved, but that’s just not true. I’ve reached out again and am now waiting for their reply.

I've been visiting their Greenfield location for ages, and I gotta say, the building is just lovely. Their customer service has always been top-notch. Honestly, I think I like shopping in-store more than online since the prices and selection are usually better that way. Plus, that building is just so charming. My only small gripe is that it can be tricky to figure out things like fiber content. I’m not a fan of plastic, and I've been caught off guard a couple of times when I thought I was buying wool. Like, there was this one time a ball of wool said 'Marino' on it, but it turned out to be 90% plastic. It would really help if the fiber content was easier to spot. They do a great job with things like dye lots, though. Also, I’m not a fan of how they wrap everything in a ton of plastic; these days, we’ve got sustainable options that should be used instead.

I've heard you can send back just about anything if you're not happy, as long as it's within 28 days. So, I picked up a sewing machine from their Manchester store. It started acting up, which was a hassle since I’m in North Cyprus and heading back this weekend. But no need to stress! I got my full refund super quick. Huge shoutout to the two ladies who helped me out. I’ll surely be back next time I’m around.

With the pandemic, I've kinda stopped visiting stores. Thank goodness for Michael Abakhan! The fabrics are awesome, super affordable, and the service is just fabulous - really quick. It's my go-to site whenever I'm in the mood to sew something fresh. I've never been let down.

I got some heavyweight interfacing, and it wasn't as thick as I thought it would be. However, after giving it a go, I'm really impressed with the quality. It worked perfectly for my fabric baskets!

Honestly, I can't find better service anywhere! The prices are fair, and they've got a huge selection of materials and haberdashery. There's something for every taste here. For all my sewing needs, this is the only place I’ll go!
